Stash Enhancement!

my love took me to Riverside Yarns in Owen Sound on Friday.  i don't think words are needed for the rest of this post... just yarn pr0n.

In order of appearance;
- Trekking XXL in colour 415.
- Wendy Happy in colour 2520/Virgo.
- Malabrigo Sock in Archangel (i loved the colour so much the first time i bought another hank.  i wound it into a ball the moment i got home).
- Fleece Artist Trail Socks in Rose Garden.
- Malabrigo Sock in Indiecita (another repeat... i knit the first hank into a In the Land of Oz shawlette).
- Koigu KPM and Koigu KPPPM.  intended for striped socks for meeeeee :)
- Malabrigo Sock in Abril, being knit into another Holden Shawlette.  (i wasn't kidding when i said that Malabrigo Sock was my new favourite yarn of all time.  i could knit with it forever and be happy :)

an FO!

midnight knitting comes to the rescue. we had a rough night. poor Jake was up so much coughing. he was camping out in my bedroom, so i was up quite a lot of the night with him. it's a good thing i had all that knitting paraphernalia to keep my company. i managed to *finally* finish up my Trekking Jaywalkers. no photo of me modeling them though. frankly, i didn't shave my legs today and i'm not about the post THAT on the internet.

specs:

yarn: Trekking XXL in colour 100, bought from TheKnitter.com (love Judy's store!)
pattern: the infamous Jaywalker by Grumperina, with some modifications. i went down a needle size from my last pair of Jaywalkers and knit 9 stitches in between the increases and decreases instead of the 7 or 8 the pattern calls for.
needles: Boye US1 dpns
start date: months ago
finish date: too long after start date ;)

you mean we're supposed to SLEEP in bed?

yeah, i'll fall asleep eventually. but in the meantime i have Nancy Bush's Knitting Vintage Socks, my Cherry Tree Hill socks, my Trekking XXL Jaywalkers (that i started way back in Soctoberfest!), red Regia sock yarn (for another pair for my dad... probably a pattern from Knitting Vintage Socks), a knitting notebook and the laptop (to watch some more X Files) to keep my company.

had a great time last night gals. btw... the kids took that picture last Thursday, but i didn't find out about it until last night after you all left. i mean, i only spend 24/7 with my kids, why should i know they've been posing the cat with toy guns? LOL.

Trekking XXL colour #106

oh my... a wee little slice of heaven came to my mailbox today from TheKnitter.com. now i must must must get all those other socks i have on the go finished to free up some needles for the Trekking. (you know, i counted... i currently have 5 socks on needles, all in various states non-completion).

woohooo... Jaywalkers in Trekking (# 105)! Jaywalkers that FINALLY fit!

i'm glad the weather is still on the chilly side today because i'm going to enjoy wearing these babies!

the only thing that looks a bit off is the top corners of my heel turns... what's with the little hole there? i've done that heel on pretty much all of my socks, this is the first time i've had a noticable wonky stitch. meh.

so... i've been thinking... maybe i should rename this blog 'an uncleverly named SOCK knitting blog' since it seems all i knit are socks. really... i knit other garments, but socks are just so fast, easy and portable that they get higher priority.

i will show you the finished Duet tank as soon as i get it sewn together (so what i'm really saying is don't hold your breath, you'll probably see more socks here before that tank gets the finishing touches).

these socks are happy!

and so is the boy whose feet they get to cover.

they're Trekking yarn, colour 100. my son wore them yesterday despite it being a lovely warm day. what is it about seeing your kids in things you've knit them that makes you all warm and fuzzy inside?

i still have LOADS of yarn left over. but i'm not sure what to do with it... baby socks? try my luck at making my son a second pair and hope there is enough? decisions, decisions ;)

sometimes i love getting mail

dontchya just love it when there are goodies like this waiting for you in your mailbox? *huge grin*

and i'm kind of surprised, my son is claiming the Trekking 100 for himself. he must have a pair of hand knit socks out of that yarn. i think i'm going to have to order some more from theknitter.com. mahvelous!
